St. Bert’s Star Style!

Last week 2 of our cool customers, Oliver and Zac Barker were spotted in St.Bert’s at the King Arthur movie premiere in Londons Leicester square.

We were delighted (and a little overexcited) that they chose to wear St Bert’s to the premiere, we thought they looked red carpet ready next to the likes of David Beckham, Charlie Hunnam and Poppy Delevingne!

KING A EDITThey have been brand ambassadors of ours for a number of years now and along with their sister Megan, the triplets rock our retro styles and designs and always look amazing when sporting our bright and bold pieces. It has been super exciting to see their journey from Downton Abbey to the silver screen.

Proud mum Clare explained how the youngsters’ latest role came about. “I had a call from the boys’ agent at the beginning of 2015 wanting Oliver and Zac to meet a casting director for a role in a major movie – in fact, he wanted to see all three triplets as they were also after a girl of similar age to play the cousin. So we took Megan along too – although she was extremely shy and didn’t want to do anything.

“It was during this meeting that we discovered that Guy Ritchie would be directing, and he had seen the boys on Downton Abbey. Shortly after that meeting, the boys were offered the role of Young Arthur. “They were only four and a half when they started filming King Arthur. It was being shot at the same time as they were also filming the last series of Downton Abbey, so there were days when it was a bit of a juggle.

Clare said: “We would be chauffeur-driven and put up in the Grove Hotel – an incredible 5 star hotel where we would get driven around on golf buggies and the kids made use of the ‘children’s pool’ and games room – definitely a nice taster of movie star life! “Each time we were driven onto set, we drove past the Harry Potter triple-decker bus which the boys loved. It was pretty incredible as the studio had built a full size castle with lakes etc. The amount of work that went into making this all look so authentic was unbelievable. “The boys had their own trailers both by the production area and another next to the main studio area. Everything they could’ve wanted was put on.

St Berts

We have been getting such lovely comments about our imagery for our Spring/Summer campaign, so we wanted to share some more behind the scenes imagery with you.

We shot the new collection on a rather grey day in February, #teamstberts set up early o’clock in a photo studio in Peckham. Up many flights of stairs with giant paper palms-trees, rolls of coloured paper and bundles of lovely #stberts clothes.

After coffee pick me ups and croissants munched, our lovely models arrived. Two of our own, Sammy and Tallulah. Then Vinny, Beau, Olive, Amelie and Woodie. They had a super day playing with giant sunshine cut outs, star-jumping off colourful plinths and scoffing pizza between shots, they were such fun to work with and they really made the campaign!

We hope you love the new collection as much as we do, with surf and sailing inspired prints and terry towelling pieces perfect for beach days. You can shop the collection now and get ready for the sunshine!

I also love it all because of the really bright colours!” Karen at Mini Travellers

St Bert’s at Christmas…

The last of the Christmas orders are out and we are getting into the swing of the festivities! We are looking forward to a few days with our nearest and dearest and here are a few of our St Bert’s family traditions …

Santa having a snooze

Yesterday we visited Santa’s Grotto at Ruxley Manor Garden Centre …’s owned by our good friend Andrew and is honestly the best Grotto in the UK! At the end of the walk through the Grotto, presents come flying down the chimney and Father Christmas is as real as they come. It has a big ice skating rink, real reindeer and is an annual treat that we look forward to every year. We’ve been going for the last 6 years since our oldest, Tallulah was 3…

On Christmas Eve we’ll go to Newick Church and then go home and eat fondue – we are mad about Fondue and would have it every night if we could – meat and cheese and thousands of dips and pickles!

This year we have two sets of friends coming for Christmas Day and we’ve asked them to come with their Christmas traditions  too….

So with a full house on Christmas morning after stockings have ben opened (we’re hoping for post 5am!) we’ll be having Smoked Oysters on Crostini for breakfast, then we will all play a game of tennis before opening presents from under the tree with a Bloody Mary in hand for the adults and sparkling apple for the kids!

Starting the prep with bread sauce

We will of course listen to the Queens speech and then tuck into lunch with a starter of Seafood Platter followed by Roast Turkey with all the trimmings.
After lunch there will be a wonderful variety show put on by the children,  there will be singing, poetry and dancing, we can’t wait!
Then the games commence – Perudo, Backgammon and Charades followed by a Treasure Hunt around the garden.

Bella in her Christmas best!

For Boxing Day breakfast we’ll be having fried Christmas Pudding with Bacon (this is one of our friend’s traditions – we will let you know how that one goes!) afterwards we will all go for a long walk with Bella the cockapoo (the St. Bert’s family dog )in the Ashdown Forest.

Keep following us here for more festivities from the world of St Bert’s!

We want to wish all of our wonderful St Bert’s customers and followers a very  Merry Christmas !
